Quyll is a desktop writing application built with a local-first architecture. Your privacy is fundamental to how we design and build Quyll. This policy explains what data we access, how we handle it, and your rights.

2. Data Storage

All project data — including manuscripts, characters, locations, world-building entries, and application settings — is stored locally on your device in SQLite databases within your operating system's app data directory. Quyll does not transmit, collect, or store any of your creative content on remote servers.

Analytics are powered by Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics provider that does not use cookies, does not track users across applications, and does not collect personally identifiable information. You can opt out at any time via Settings → Privacy.

6. Payment Data

Premium subscriptions for Quyll's AI writing tools are processed entirely by LemonSqueezy. When you subscribe:

Donations made through Ko-fi or GitHub Sponsors are processed by those respective platforms and governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Data Security

All data remains on your local filesystem under your operating system's standard security protections. When using Cloud Backup, data is transmitted directly between your device and Google Drive over secure HTTPS connections. No intermediary servers are involved.

8. Children's Privacy

Quyll does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Quyll after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
